David’s Story

When David’s marriage broke down, he struggled to find a property which was suitable for his children to stay overnight.  Whilst trying to save for a deposit to secure new accommodation his wife increased the amount she required for child maintenance and he was left not knowing how to move forward.

GroceryAid awarded David a crisis grant which enabled him to pay the first month’s rent as a deposit on a property where he could have his children stay regularly. He was put in touch with Law Express through the GroceryAid Helpline to discuss his rights as a father on seeing his children and given guidance to negotiate an affordable child maintenance agreement.
