David’s Story

David’s life was upended when his 12-year marriage came to an end. Struggling emotionally and financially, he faced the challenge of finding a suitable home for his two young children. As he tried to save a deposit, his wife increased child maintenance demands, leaving him feeling stuck and overwhelmed.

In his crisis, David turned to GroceryAid, which awarded him a grant to cover the first month’s rent for a new property he had found, allowing his children to stay regularly. Through the GroceryAid Helpline, he was connected with Law Express, where he received free and confidential legal advice about his rights as a father and guidance on negotiating a more affordable child maintenance agreement.

With this support, David regained his footing and was able to provide a stable home for his children.
