GroceryAid has been at the heart of the food and drink industry for over 160 years supporting colleagues through crises across our trade.

The GroceryAid Covid-19 Fund has been established to provide enhanced support for grocery colleagues during this unprecedented period. GroceryAid has raised a fund of £1.5m to ensure support will reach colleagues who need it.

Our industry has collectively faced into extreme pressure and has worked together to sustain the nation. This has been a huge challenge for colleagues across the supply chain.

“Amid the huge challenge of Covid-19 our trade has done a great job of keeping the nation fed. GroceryAid has raised a special Covid-19 fund to help our industry colleagues at this time of need. The 24/7 Helpline will deal with concerns and assist with financial stress caused by this terrible virus." - Charles Wilson, GroceryAid President

“Our industry has been tested like never before and colleagues have risen to the challenge. We are proud that this fund enables us to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those who now need help as a direct consequence of Covid-19.” - Steve Barnes, GroceryAid CEO

Mental Health Support

Bereavement Financial Assistance

Providing financial assistance for the loss of a loved one through Covid-19. Available to grocery colleagues who lose a partner or the immediate family of a colleague who has passed away as a result of Covid-19 whilst working in our industry.

Crisis grants

Available for grocery colleagues that face unexpected financial emergencies due to Covid-19. Crisis grants are accessible to colleagues with a year’s industry service and are non-repayable.

We would urge colleagues to get in touch via the 24/7 Helpline if they want support with challenges caused by Covid-19. We know that people all deal with crises differently, so our support is tailored to the needs of the individual.

“In the current Covid-19 crisis we know that colleagues throughout our sector are being impacted emotionally and financially. GroceryAid is proud to have launched the Covid-19 Fund to help those affected through our 24/7 Helpline and financial grants programmes in these unprecedented times."- Mandi Leonard, GroceryAid Welfare Director
