If you are looking for advice and help on tax issues then Tax Help for Older People offers a range of services which are specifically designed for older people. They offer a caring and friendly help and advice service on personal tax issues through their own expert advisers that is jargon-free, independent, confidential and individual to your needs. Tax Help for Older People is a service from the charity Tax Volunteers.

Cancer Support

Macmillan Logo.jpgGroceryAid is working with Macmillan Cancer Support in order to help people across the grocery industry who are suffering from cancer. We have joined forces to alleviate the financial stresses and strains that those with the disease may face. People currently being assisted by GroceryAid have been awarded funds to help with living costs, clothing and bedding, which allows patients to concentrate on their health at this sensitive time. Dementia UK - Admiral Nursing Direct

Dementia UKDementia UK offers specialist one-to-one support and expert advice for people living with dementia through Admiral Nurses. They work hand in hand with families, helping them cope with the fear, uncertainty and difficult everyday reality of dementia. You can access their specialist dementia helpline - Admiral Nursing Direct - staffed by Admiral Nurses who offer advice and support to families, professionals and anyone worried about their memory. It is the only nurse led dementia helpline in the country and provides support from Monday-Friday 9.15am-4.45pm and Wednesday-Thursday 6-9pm on 0800 888 6678.

Health Through Warmth

Health Through Warmth offers help to people in England and Wales who have long term illnesses and are finding it hard to fully fund heating systems/repairs and insulation in their homes. People don’t have to be an npower customer to get help from the scheme. 

Armed Forces

If you or your family serve, or have served in the Armed Forces then the Royal British Legion or SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors and Air Force Association) may be able to offer you additional help.

Whether it's families coping with the loss of a loved one, help at home to adapt to independent living, recovery centres for injured personnel, money and careers advice or residential care: RBL are there to help.


SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors and Air Force Association) SSAFA logo

SSAFA provides lifelong support to men and women in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force – and their families. SSAFA also work with veterans of all ages to help them settle into life and work outside the Forces.
